Abbas Ansari News: Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot have arrested three more jail officials for their role in facilitating the meeting between jailed Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) MLA Abbas Ansari and his wife Nikhat. Police said that Jail Superintendent Ashok Sagar, Jailor Santosh Kumar Singh and Warder Jagmohan are accused of taking bribe from Niyaz, his driver, to facilitate Nikhat’s meeting with Abbas in jail.
Additional Director General of Police, Prayagraj Zone, Bhanu Bhaskar said that the police is working to expose the co-conspirators who arranged the meeting between SBSP MLA Abbas Ansari and Nikhat Bano in exchange of cash. The ADG said, the co-conspirators were not only facilitating the meeting, but were also threatening witnesses, prosecutors and police officers. He repeatedly failed to perform his duties.
Seven jail officials have also been suspended
The ADG said that the Chitrakoot police team, which conducted raids in 18 districts of the state, recovered some documents from the residences of the accused, which would now be used as evidence in the court. ADG law and order Prashant Kumar said that the police is working to expose the co-conspirators involved in the entire act. So far the police have arrested eight people including Nikhat Bano, driver Niyaz, SP District President Faraj, his accomplice Navneet and four jail officials. Seven jail officials have also been suspended.
On February 11, Nikhat went to meet her husband inside Chitrakoot Jail. Two mobile phones along with 12 Saudi Riyals and Rs 21,000 were recovered from his possession. Police later seized the SUV used by Nikhat to meet her husband in jail. Abbas Ansari was later shifted to Kasganj jail by the government.
