IPL 2023, Delhi Capitals: These days two Test match series is going on between South Africa and West Indies. South Africa, who won the first match, suffered a setback in the form of fast bowler Enrique Norcia. In the first Test match at Centurion, Norkia suffered a slight discomfort in the groin. Norkia’s injury could spell trouble for South Africa as well as IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. The fast bowler will be a part of the team for the 16th season.
He missed the second Test against West Indies
In view of the injury sustained in the first Test, Unrich Norkia was dropped from the squad for the second Test against the West Indies as a precautionary measure. In the first match, Norkia took 5 wickets in the first innings. South Africa won the match by 87 runs. Norkia was not replaced in the team by any player. The team may field a spinner in the next Test. The second Test between West Indies and South Africa will be held from March 8.
Delhi may get another blow
Norkia’s injury could be another big blow for Delhi Capitals. The franchise has already lost wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant. Now such a team will not want to suffer another big defeat. Norkia is the main fast bowler of Delhi Capitals.
In IPL 2022, Norkia played a total of 6 matches for Delhi Capitals in which he bowled and took 9 wickets at an average of 24.11. His economy at this point is 9.72. Although it is not yet clear whether he will be out of IPL 2023 or not. The 16th season of IPL will start from March 31. He can recover from his injury before that.
