CSK vs DC, Ben Stokes: Chennai Super Kings will play their next 12th match of IPL 2023 against Delhi Capitals at Chepauk Stadium today (May 10). Ahead of this match, there was a big question about the team’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes. Will Ben Stokes be in the playing XI for the match against Delhi? Are they fully fit or not? Stokes has played only 2 matches in IPL so far and his performance has been very poor.
In the mini auction for IPL 2023, Stokes was sold for Rs. Mumbai bought it for 16.25 crores. Stokes has yet to justify his price tag in any way. In two matches, he scored just 15 runs and conceded 18 runs in just one over. For the rest of the match, Stokes sat on the bench due to injury.
Batting coach Mike Hussey gave a fitness update during the match against Delhi
On Ben Stokes’ fitness, Chennai Super Kings batting coach Michael Hussey said that Stokes is now fit and available for selection. He was kept out of the playing XI in the last few matches due to the nature of the pitches and the combination of the playing XI.
In such circumstances, it can be said that Stokes will have to be out once again in the match against Delhi. The team already has four overseas players in the form of Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Mahish Thikshan and Matisha Pathirana. All four players have performed well for the team so far. In this way, Ben Stokes does not seem to get a place in the team.
