Is Ola readying to launch an electric sportbike in India to rival Ultraviolette F77?
Ola Electric currently has a three-model lineup that includes the Ola S1 Air, Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters.
Ola Electric is working on a new electric sportbike
CEO Bhavish Agarwal took to Twitter to run a quick survey to determine the most popular type of motorcycle. The poll lists four types of motorcycles – Sports, Cruiser, Adventure and Cafe Racer. Bhavish’s followers responded in favor of the sports motorcycle.
This comes in line with reports earlier in October of the launch of the Ola S1 Air affordable electric scooter in India. The CEO of a Bangalore-based EV startup has expressed his displeasure with the sporty electric motorcycles coming into the market. It may be an indirect take on the upcoming Ultraviolette F77 electric sportbike. The CEO then became interested in entering the EV motorcycling space.
Ola Electric can be expected to diversify its portfolio with an electric sport motorcycle. The upcoming electric sportbike from Ola may take a more balanced route in terms of sportiness compared to the Ultraviolette F77 to cater to a wider audience. The bike can be designed to look stylish and sporty but still have a comfortable yet focused riding triangle. The upcoming electric sportbike is likely to be stacked against a 150-160cc sport bike to keep it accessible to the masses.
