Harmanpreet, who scored over 200 runs in the first innings of the Women’s IPL, played a stormy innings.

 

WPL 2023: The inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League has begun. In the first season, the first match is going on between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants. The match is being played at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy Stadium in Navi Mumbai. In this match, Gujarat Giants captain Beth Mooney decided to bowl first after winning the toss, but Mumbai and Indian team captain Harmanpreet did not allow him to complete his plans. Yasthika Bhatia opened the batting for Mumbai but she managed only 1 run off 8 balls falling victim to Tanuja Kanwar. But Hayley Mathews who came to bat with him played an innings with 47 runs off 31 balls. After him, England came in to bat with Natalie, who scored 23 runs off 18 balls as skipper Harmanpreet stormed in.

Harmanpreet broke out in the first match itself

Harmanpreet scored 65 runs off 30 balls with 14 fours at a strike rate of 216.67. Amelia Carr then completed the rest of the game with a brilliant innings of 45 off 24 balls, taking the team to 207 for 5 in 20 overs. From Mumbai, Pooja Vastrakar scored 15 off 8 balls and then Issy Wang also hit a six off just 1 ball to help the team reach such a big score.

On the other hand, Sneha Rana took maximum 2 wickets from Gujarat, Ashley Gardner, Tanuja Kanwar and Georgia Wareham also took one wicket each. And in the second innings of this match, we have to see how the Gujarat team will achieve such a big target.
