WhatsApp’s ‘Accidental Delete’ Feature: How Does It Work?
Users benefit from the accidental delete function as it gives them a five-second window in which they can cancel the deletion of an accidentally deleted message and then click the ‘Delete for all’ button. This feature is now available for all Android and iPhone users.
A “delete for all” option was added to the platform in 2017 to allow users to recall a message to all chat participants. This function was developed to solve the problem of accidentally transmitting messages in individual and group conversations.

While this option could only be used for a maximum of seven minutes when it was first introduced, WhatsApp increased the maximum time it can be used to two days and twelve hours in August this year.
