Going by the rumours, the smartphone is expected to launch shortly after chipmakers MediaTek and Qualcomm release their latest generation chips, the Dimensity 9200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. MediaTek announced the Dimensity 9200 today and Qualcomm is set to follow.

Vivo X90 Pro+ Design, Specifications

According to PostVivo X90 Pro+ Looks set To come with bright red as one of its color options. The rear camera module is quite large and takes up most of the top portion of the smartphone. In the circular module, Vivo has also placed three standard cameras and a periscope telephoto unit. Along with this module, on its right side, there is an LED flash module and the Zeiss branding that comes with Vivo’s flagship X series.

An interesting feature that adds some uniqueness to the overall design of the Vivo X90 Pro+ smartphone is a metal strip, shaped like a handlebar, that runs down the middle of the phone and divides its top and bottom halves. The bar is likely just a design element and doesn’t have special functionality like the pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers that come with some gaming phones.

It also remains to be seen how the phone will look when placed horizontally on a tabletop, with a metal strip in the middle.

Vivo X90 Pro+ key specifications include Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 12GB memory and 256GB storage. As for the cameras, the smartphone comes with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 50MP sensor for its primary camera, a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor for the ultra-wide unit and a 50MP Sony IMX578 sensor for the portrait unit. An Omnivision 64MP sensor powers the telephoto camera.
