The Toyota Innova Hicross is a complete departure from the Innovas of yesteryear and offers modern technology with a reduced carbon footprint and enhanced performance. Toyota has already opened bookings for the Innova Hycross and is likely to announce prices in January. The new Innova HighCross is based on monocoque construction for the first time and is based on Toyota’s global TNGA-C platform. The new Innova Hicross gets Toyota’s 5th generation Strong Hybrid Tech (M20A-FXS) technology consists of a 2.0l petrol engine and an electric motor. The 2.0l petrol engine produces 152hp of maximum power and 187Nm of peak torque. It is coupled with an electric motor to produce a power output of 186bhp. The robust hybrid version of the Innova Highcross promises to return a certified fuel efficiency of 21.1kmpl. The Innova Hycross can also sprint from 0 to 100kmph in under 9.5 seconds. This powertrain gets four variants namely ZX, ZX (O), VX 8 Seater and VX 7 Seater.

The Innova Highcross also uses a regular petrol ICE in one form The 1,987cc engine produces 174hp of peak power and 197Nm of peak torque. This powertrain is available in GX 8 Seater, GX 7 Seater, G 8 Seater and G 7 Seater variants. All petrol-powered models are mated to a CVT automatic transmission. The interiors have been upgraded with a new floating 10.1-inch central infotainment system, semi-digital instrumentation with 4.2-inch color MID, dash-mounted gear lever, electronic parking brake, ventilated front seats, chestnut brown leatherette upholstery, etc. Soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door cards, ambient lighting, power 2nd-row seats with Ottoman mode, dual-zone AC, etc. The overall feature list is also long and now includes a powered tailgate, auto LED headlamps with high beam control, LED taillamps and more. The Innova also gets a full panoramic sunroof for the first time.

The Innova Hycross also features the company’s ADAS suite called Toyota Safety Sense technology. Toyota is likely to announce the prices of the new Innova Highcross in January 2023. The new Innova Highcross is priced at Rs. 22 lakh to Rs. 28 lakhs (ex-showroom).
