Revamp Moto, the Nashik-based EV startup that participated in Shark Tank Season 1 and received a round of funding from Sharks, has now launched India’s first convertible electric two-wheeler.

The RM Buddie 25 is a low-speed electric two-wheeler built from the ground up with modularity in mind. The company designed the EV to host a swappable battery pack and also put in other accessories and attachments that help users carry payload or pillion.

The vehicle has a limited top speed of 25km/h, thus qualifying as a low-speed vehicle, which is exempt from registration and can be driven by anyone even without a licence. Revamp Moto is open for bookings from December 16, 2022. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in April 2023.

The e-scooter gets a removable battery pack that can be swapped out “in a minute” and charged at home. Revamp Moto managed to secure significant funding for their work on Shark Tank Season 1. In the show, the company will spend Rs. 1 crore worth of funds provided. BoAt founder Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com offered to chip in the money in exchange for 1.5 percent equity in the company. Revamp Moto was also followed by Lenskart’s Peyush Bansal and Bharat Pay’s Ashneer Grover for Rs. 50 lakhs brought into the mix. The company is also leveraging its strong backend support to launch the RM Buddy 25 on Metaverse, making it the first electric startup to launch a product on a VR platform.
