Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been leading Chennai Super Kings since the first season of IPL i.e. 2008, while Rahit Sharma became the captain of Mumbai Indians in 2013. Dhoni has won more matches as a captain in IPL than Rohit Sharma in such situations.
Dhoni has played a total of 210 matches as captain so far, out of which he has won 123 matches and lost 86 matches, leaving one match unfinished. Dhoni is the captain who has played the most matches in IPL. During this period, Dhoni played for Chennai Super Kings and Rising Pune Super Giants.
Apart from this, Rohit Sharma has played a total of 143 matches as a captain in IPL so far, in which he has won 79 matches, lost 60 matches and tied 4 matches. Rohit Sharma became the second captain who played most matches in IPL. In this list, Virat Kohli is at the third position, Gautam Gambhir is at the fourth position, and Adam Gilchrist is at the fifth position.
Dhoni is the only captain who has won more than 100 matches
