Separately, 5G network services have been launched in Manipur, making it the first state in the North-East to get services of the latest network. The services were inaugurated by Chief Minister N Biren Singh at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal.
Jio 5G services in Kochi
Jio 5G services launched in Kochi city and Guruvayur temple premises. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan attended the inaugural function. Vijayan said..I am happy to announce the launch of Jio’s True 5G services in Kerala. 5G services will, in the long run, bring transformative benefits to the people of Kerala.“
Reliance-backed Jio has said it will soon bring 5G services to consumers in more parts of Kerala. In January 2023, Jio will bring 5G services to customers in Kozhikode, Malappuram and Thrissur. Further, Thiruvananthapuram will see 5G from Jio by the end of this month, the minister said. By December 2023, Kerala will have full 5G coverage.
Vijayan added.Jio has invested over Rs.6000 crores to deploy 5G network in Kerala and this shows their commitment towards our state. They will launch 5G services in Trivandrum by the end of this month, followed by Thrissur, Kozhikode and Malappuram by January 2023. Jio’s 5G services will be available in every tehsil and taluk of Kerala by December 2023..”
As for the 5G network services in Manipur, the Chief Minister of the state said “The launch of 5G will improve the lives of the common man, raise the standard of living of the people of Manipur and generate much-needed employment opportunities for the state as well as generate revenue.State Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar expressed confidence that at least 4G connectivity will be provided to recognized villages in the state in the next six months, making Manipur the best in the Northeast region.
Assam and Northeast Bharti Airtel CEO Rajneesh Verma said that Airtel is the first operator to launch 5G services in the Northeast region of the country.
