Jio 5G Phone Price in India
According to a new Counterpoint report, the Jio Phone 5G will be priced at Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 12,000 between. The company will wait until the 5G network is rolled out in a good part of the country before introducing its affordable 5G phone.
The report adds “Furthermore, sometime in 2024, Jio will be forced to launch an affordable 5G mmWave + sub-6GHz smartphone, as the price deltas between the two have narrowed significantly from an overall BoM (Bill of Materials) fitting perspective. However, no other details about the phone have been revealed as of now.
Reliance Jio has leveraged its partnership with Qualcomm for the chipset in the Jio Phone Next and priced the Jio Phone Next at Rs. Samsung has placed bulk orders with its supply chain in China and Korea to bring it down to less than 5,000. Display and storage alone account for 22 percent of the bill of materials. While the display panels are supplied by TXD, a new Chinese supplier supplies the storage and memory through Samsung.
The processor and modem account for 11 percent of the BoM cost. The camera modules in the Jio Phone Next are manufactured by Korean supplier SK Hynix, while the battery is manufactured by Chinese supplier Guangdong Fenghua NEW Energy CO., LTD. Both components individually account for 9 percent of the BoM cost.
