David Warner to be the new captain of Delhi Capitals, star Indian player becomes vice-captain

Delhi Capitals, IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals are facing a captaincy issue ahead of IPL 2023. In the absence of Rishabh Pant for the tournament starting on March 31, the franchise had to hand over the captaincy to a player. It has been decided to hand over the command of the team to Australian batsman David Warner on behalf of Delhi. At the same time, India’s star all-rounder Akshar Patel was named the team’s vice-captain. This decision was taken in Pant’s place.

This was confirmed by the Delhi franchise management. Speaking to Cricbuzz, a member of Delhi Capitals’ ownership group said, “David Warner will be our captain and Akshar Patel will be his deputy (vice captain).” Earlier the command of the team was in the hands of Rishabh Pant. Pant was ruled out of the 16th season of IPL due to the accident. With this, the franchise announced a new captaincy.

How was the situation in Delhi last year?
