Ashwin regains top spot in ICC Test bowling rankings

Latest ICC Test Bowler Rankings: India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has topped the Test bowlers rankings released by the ICC. When this ranking was updated last week, then English fast bowler James Anderson was ranked first. Ashwin has now taken the top spot with 864 points, displacing Anderson. After almost 8 years, Ashwin managed to get the first position in the Test rankings.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been in excellent form in the first 2 Test matches of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia where he has taken a total of 14 wickets. Meanwhile, the third Test match of the series between the two teams is underway at the Indoor ground, in which the Indian team collapsed for 109 runs in their first innings.

Ravichandran Ashwin played a vital role in the Kangaroos’ second innings haul of 5 wickets and tied them for 91 runs in the Nagpur Test match. Due to his bowling spell, the Indian team won by an innings margin of 132 runs.

Jadeja also moved up 1 spot

In the first 2 Test matches, Ravindra Jadeja also performed brilliantly with the ball and the bat. He took advantage of this in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings, in which he occupied the No. 1 position. Meanwhile, in the bowling rankings, Jadeja jumps to 8th place. Jadeja currently has a total of 763 rating points.

Talking about other players in the Test bowling rankings, long-time No. 1 bowler Pat Cummins has dropped to third place in the rankings, while James Anderson is now at No. 2.
