Siddharth Luthra joined the Delhi Bar in 1991 and was appointed as a Senior Advocate in 2007.
He was appointed as Additional Solicitor General of India for a 2-year term by the Supreme Court of India on July 6, 2012 and has represented the Central and State Governments in various matters related to fundamental rights, environmental laws, electoral reforms. , criminal law, child rights, education and policy issues.
He previously served as a government counsel assisting the Judicial Inquiry Committee in connection with the investigation into alleged misconduct against Justice Soumitra Sen of the Calcutta High Court under Article 217 of the Constitution of India (second impeachment after the Constitution of India). came into force in 1950).

He holds a law degree from Delhi University and an M.Phil. Received in criminology from Cambridge. He taught law at Delhi University (1997-1998). He is a Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Society.
