Disassembling the Google Pixel 7 Pro
The process begins with removing the only removable item in the SIM tray of the entire smartphone. Next, the sides of the display dissipate a bit of heat. After removing the screen and metal cover, we can see the internals, including the 5,000mAh battery.
A substantial graphite film is on-boarded on the main board to keep things cool. Digging a little deeper after disconnecting a few more screws and connectors, we can see the camera setup in its full glory. There is a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 48MP telephoto shooter with 5x optical zoom. The YouTuber also gives us a closer look at the Pixel 7 Pro’s new 10.8MP selfie snapper (down from the Pixel 6 Pro’s 11.1MP).
Finally, the USB-C charging port seems to be melted to the board, and the glass back is also cemented to the frame with glue. This makes the Pixel 7 Pro difficult to repair. YouTuber rates the Pixel 7 Pro as 5.5/10 on repairability score, so it’s a difficult smartphone to repair.
