Hero Motorcorp, one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in India, if not the world, has finally ventured into the EV space in India. The company recently launched its first electric scooter under the brand name ‘Vida’ and has introduced two e-scooters named Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro. While both are premium offerings, the Vida V1 Pro is the top-of-the-line variant and goes up against the likes of the Ola S1 Pro.

Vida V1 Pro vs Ola S1 Pro Price in India
Vida V1 Pro is priced at Rs. 1.59 lakhs (ex-showroom) is one of the most expensive electric scooters on sale in India. In comparison, the Ola S1 Pro is priced at Rs. 1.29 lakhs (ex-showroom). But these prices do not include the FAME-II subsidies that drive the prices state-wise.
The Ola S1 Pro is already on sale in India, however, bookings can be placed through the Ola Electric website. Ola also offers 3 years / 40,000 km warranty on the scooter and 3 years / unlimited kilometers warranty on the battery pack. Buyers can also opt for an extended warranty package that enables an additional 2 years of warranty. Ola S1 Pro is available Porcelain White, Khaki, Neo Mint, Coral Glam, Jet Black, Marshmallow, Liquid Silver, Millennial Pink, Anthracite Grey, Midnight Blue and Matte Black.
Hero MotorCorp has opened bookings for the Vida V1 Pro from October 10 and interested customers can reserve the vehicle for Rs 4,999. There are color options Matte White, Matte Sports Red, Gloss Black and Matte Abrax Orange. Hero MotorCorp also offers a standard 5-year / 50,000km warranty on the vehicle, while the battery is covered up to 3 years / 30,000km. Hero MotorCorp also offers 70 percent buyback guarantee on vehicle within 18 months.
Vida V1 Pro vs Ola S1 Pro
design
The Vida V1 Pro takes a completely different approach in terms of design. Where the Ola S1 Pro sports a smooth-flowing design with minimal layering, the Vida V1 Pro gets more textured and panel styling. The front fascia houses the headlamp in an apron on the Vida V1 Pro, while the Ola S1 Pro wears it on the handlebar cowl. But the new V1 Pro uses multiple asymmetrical designs and styling elements, which makes it interesting.
Specifications
Hero Vida V1 Pro gets a A 3.94 kWh battery pack is paired with an 8 bhp electric motor. This powertrain promises a driving range of 165 km. The Vida V1 also achieves a 0 to 40kmph sprint in 3.2 seconds. In comparison, the Ola S1 Pro gets a slightly more powerful setup, featuring an 8.5kW motor with 58Nm of torque that propels the scooter from 0 to 40kmph in 3 seconds. The motor is paired with a 3.97 kWh battery pack and Ola claims that a single charge can deliver a certified range of 181km. In terms of absolute top speed, the Vida V1 Pro has a maximum speed of 80kmph, while the Ola S1 Pro can go as fast as 115kmph.
Battery and charging
The Vida V1 Pro gets a sizeable 3.94kWh battery pack. The battery pack is split in two and placed under the seat. The battery packs are removable and weigh approximately 11 kg each. Hero says customers can choose to take the battery pack home for charging purposes. According to the company, the Vida V1 Pro takes about 2 hours to charge on a DC fast charger, while an AC outlet can top up from 0 to 80 percent in 5 hours and 55 minutes.
The Ola takes around 6 hours 30 minutes compared to its larger 3.97 kWh battery pack.
Features
Both the scooters are very well designed and only nitpicking can be done on this aspect. The new Vida V1 Pro arrives 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster, keyless control, cruise control, SOS alert, two-way throttle and OTA updates. It also has four riding modes namely Sport, Ride, Eco and Custom. It also gets a ‘limp mode’ which allows the scooter to crawl at a parking speed of 8kmph to 10kmph when the charge levels are low.
The Ola S1 Pro is a leader in the features department and it gets it An octa-core processor paired with a 7-inch touchscreen display, multiple microphones, 3GB RAM, 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It also gets hill descent control, reverse mode, multiple riding modes, cruise control, navigation, music playback and more.
judgment
Vida V1 Pro looks very fresh and refreshing. It promises a lot on paper with futuristic styling, strong performance, substantial range and new-age features. The Ola S1 Pro also promises all this but comes with its own caveats in the form of reliability issues and poor sales service among others. While the V1 Pro still has some real-life to cover, Hero MotorCorp’s prowess in the world of motorcycling and its vast dealership Touchpoint network work in favor of the newest kid on the block.
