Holiday declared for Milad un Nabi in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has officially declared a holiday to commemorate Milad un Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammed. According to the Telangana State Portal Calendar for 2023, the Milad un Nabi holiday in the state is scheduled for Thursday, September 28, and is categorized as a ‘General Holiday.’

 

However, it’s important to keep in mind that the specific date of this holiday in Telangana may be subject to change based on the sighting of the Moon. The Islamic calendar relies on the crescent moon’s sighting to determine the start of each month, including Rabi’ al-awwal, the third month, which affects the date of Milad un Nabi.

Holiday for Arbayeen in Telangana

Additionally, for this month, the Telangana government has declared holidays for Arbayeen, Sri Krishna Astami, and Vinayaka Chavithi. In the current year, Arbayeen falls on September 6, while Sri Krishna Astami and Vinayaka Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 7 and 18, respectively.

Milad un Nabi holiday in Telangana may change

It’s important to note that the date of the Milad un Nabi holiday in Telangana may change due to the moon sighting for the beginning of the month of Rabi’ al-awwal, which aligns with the 12th day of the Islamic calendar. As of the current holiday calendar declaration, Milad un Nabi is scheduled for September 28, 2023.
